Destination and handoff contract reviewed .
Result contract
Evidence this pathway provides
- Certificate identity, issuer, validity dates, and chain details returned for the hostname.
- The negotiated protocol details exposed by the checker.
Interpretation
Before opening the destination
- Input
- A public hostname.
- Source or vantage point
- The remote TLS endpoint reached for the submitted hostname through the ViWeb check path.
- Observation time
- A live endpoint observation made when the check runs.
Explicit handoff
Open SSL/TLS Checker
The hostname is sent to ViWeb Tools only after an explicit handoff.
Boundaries
What the result does not prove
- A TLS check does not establish DNS ownership.
- One endpoint result may not represent every CDN edge, client, or network path.
